But that's clearly not what these guys are talking about. Even if we were in an economic bounty right now, this is the kind of to-the-bone work that communicates its rage with precision. Chicago Remixes 2. Liebe Detail Spezial Germany. Chicago The remixes Pt 1. Decay Versions part 1. It sees Panorama Bar favourites Asusu and Stefan Linzatti deliver heavyweight interpretations of tracks from Efdemin's recent album Decay.
The latter's version of "Solaris" is particularly potent, underpinning bubbling electronics and spooky minor key melodies with a throbbing analogue techno rhythm. Livity Sound member Asusu goes deeper, offering up a hypnotic, delay-laden fusion of deep techno grooves and drifting melodies. Best of all, though, is The Borderline State version of "Parallaxis", which sees Efdemin's studio partner John Gunter re-imagine the track as a minimalist classical masterpiece - all Reichian melodies, delay-laden clarinets and picturesque chords.
Fast forward a decade and the Belgian label is now releasing remixes of Efdemin's best material. Billed as a 'Minimal Detroit' mix, it's a slow-paced, head-nodding affair that features the vocal buried deep in the mix.
Efdemin's best-known production, "Acid Bells" also gets the remix treatment. While the original was a blissful, tripped out affair, this take by DJ Koze is all grinding percussion and noisy drums.
Wrong Movements. Stroboscopic Artefacts Germany. On "Wrong Movements Right " the Panorama Bar resident forgoes kick drums in favour of washed out ambient textures, while on "Wrong Movements Circles ", he returns to the dance floor.
This time, he uses staccato drums as a basis for a left of centre arrangement with a jazzy undercurrent. New Atlantis. In that work, there were musical instruments that could read all of the sounds of the universe. It really is incredible. Don Cavalli — Cryland Everloving 6.

South Street Player - " Who? Keeps Changing Your Mind? Rebirth Of Gerberdaisy. BubbleTease Communications. Here he returns with his first album under the alias for five years, and as you'd expect it's a belter. In line with its predecessors, Fulton delivers a swathe of ear-pleasing numbers laden with colourful synthesizer sounds, jazzy electric piano stabs, opaque chords and rubbery bass guitar. There are of course interesting and oddball diversions amongst the more straightforward house jams that are tricky to accurately describe - see "Ana's F Is Chillin", the intoxicating and exotic "Japanese Indian Shrimp Curry" and the kaleidoscopic space jazz that is the brilliant title track - and a handful of ultra-percussive peak-time beasts see "Luam Has Found Her Z".
BT 22 01 Jun Jayda G. Both Of Us. Running Back Germany. As you'd expect, there's a stripped-back authenticity to the sound and production that captures the raw energy and feel of the vintage music that inspired him albeit with the kind of low-end weight associated with heavily compressed 21st century dance music. James Bright. QM 05 Jun Marquis Hawkes. Lunar EP. Unknown To The Unknown.
Interestingly, it isn't, though it's also arguably one of Hawkes' most interesting releases to date. Across the EP, he sashays between dreamy, mid-tempo Balearic disco the synth-heavy lusciousness of "Lunar" and even more saucer-eyed "Voyage" , electro-fired sunrise warmth the sparkling, Kaleidoscopic electronics, lazy electro beats and squelchy acid bass of "Be The Change You Want To See" , strangely-swung, Aphex-on-Valium vibes "Validation Comes From Within" and droning ambient soundscapes the string-laden swell of "Morning After".
UTTU 05 Jun Peppermint Jam Allstars 5. Peppermint Jam Germany. Lovebirds is up next with "The Path ", a similarly percussive workout that makes great use of steel band melodies and warm, deep disco bass. Matthias "Matty" Helibronn then gives a Teddy Pendergrass classic the re-edit treatment albeit with the addition of some tasty new drums and a few well-placed filter sweeps , while The Reflex steals the show with an organ-heavy multi-track remix of Mandrill's funk shuffler "Ape Is High" here re-named "Ape's Back In Town".
PJMS 17 Apr Johannes Albert. Renate Schallplatten. More Action Pleeease! Elswhere, there are more retro house thrills on 'More Action Please! It all adds up to an EP that could find favour with househeads of many persuasions. Elsewhere on the EP, there are more garage-y overtones on 'Facettes' while 'Bad To The Bone' and 'Jode Lade' operate in more straight-up deep house territory but still in classic US-style mode , and the quality standard is impeccable throughout.
